Delegates this week have seen PHILIP SUREY at work, restoring our walled words. The artful interior of the Sheepdrove Eco Conference Centre is adorned with quotations, proverbs and humour. But this summer we’ve had the decorators in and they covered the whole place with fresh coats of eco-friendly emulsion!

Philip is hand-painting every single word back onto our walls… each room name, fire exit notice, and saying. The most detailed job is a joke made famous by email chains – ‘You Have Two Cows’ – painted on the wall next to the reception desk.
Celebrity phrases on the Dining Room walls include quotations from Miss Piggy and John Betjeman.
Philip is a signwriter and lettercutter.
